Taipei City Government presents:
The 2004 Invest in Taipei & Business Alliance Forum
August 12, 2004
For years, Taiwan with its strategic and convenient
geographical location has presented itself as a key jumping off
point for multinational businesses entering the Asia-Pacific markets
and in particular China. Foreign businesses can integrate Taiwanese
capital (with foreign reserves of up to US$162 billion), technology
and highly skilled personnel to develop their interests in these
markets. Taiwan can be their regional operations and/or R&D
center as they expand their sphere of activity throughout the region.
Since the "Plan to Encourage Multinational
Corporations to Establish R&D Centers in Taiwan" began
in 2002, over 15 leading multinational corporations have already
established R&D centers on the island. They include HP, Sony,
Dell, Microsoft, IBM, Intel, and Ericsson. Most of these corporations
have chosen Taipei the capital of Taiwan as
the best choice for setting up their R&D centers in Asia. With
its "Taipei Technology Corridor" that includes the Neihu
Technology Park, the Nankang Software Park and the Beitou Shilin
Technology Park, Taipei offers a home for all types of industries
but in particular the focus industries of biotechnology, communications
and venture capital. Here industries will find the best of the island's
design innovation and highly qualified engineers along with a sound
economic environment and solid government backing.
Along with our 30 strong delegation made up
of Members of the Taipei City Council and Government, Representative
Industries of Taiwan and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council
(TAITRA), I cordially invite you to participate in The 2004 Invest
in Taipei & Business Alliance Forum on the 12th of August at
the Hyatt Regency Boston Hotel.
We will have presentations on the Biotech
Industry & its Future Perspectives by Well-being Biochemical
Corp. and on the strategies and investment opportunities available
for business in Taipei by Mr. Shih-hsin Chen, Chairman of Vincera

The New Silicon Valley in the Asia Pacific Region."
It is our hope that this occasion will give

and investment opportunities. Many valuable and informative activities
