TECO-Boston participates in the 24th Annual Main International Trade Day. Jun 30, 2004

TECO-Boston Senior Commercial Officer Ellen Chen represented Taiwan trade interests at the 24th Annual Main International Trade Day on June 10, 2004 held at the Marriott Hotel in South Portland, Maine. The annual event, organized by the Maine International Trade Center and attended by 300 members of the business community provided trade information and opportunities for doing business with Maine. In 2003, Maine exported $13.2 million in goods to Taiwan and ranked as the 18th largest trading partner.

Maine Governor John Baldacci addressed the dinner audience and award ceremony that capped the day's events. Mr. Richard Coyle, President of Maine International Trade Day, introduced consular officers, including Ms. Ellen Chen of TECO-Boston, the only represented office from Asia. Maine International Trade Day awarded Hussey Seating Company with the Exporter of the Year Award. Mr. Timothy Hussey, President of Hussey Seating, commented to Ms. Chen that Taiwan is an important trading partner and expressed interest to increase business with Taiwan even further.
