The Massachusetts House of Representatives and Senate
passed a joint resolution commending the Republic of China on Taiwan for
its contributions to promote world health on May 13, 2004. Calling Taiwan's
achievements in the field of health ˇ§substantial,ˇ¨ the resolution notes
that Taiwan has been eagerly, willingly and voluntarily assisting financially
and technically in international health activities supported the World
Health Organization and donates generously to disaster areas. The resolution
commends Taiwan for its myriad contributes to promote world health and
supports Taiwan's application as an observer to the World Health Organization.
Massachusetts Senators Andrea Nuciforo and Jarrett
Barrios and Representatives Michael Rodrigues, William Greene, Reed Hillman,
Marie Parente and Kathleen Teahan offered the resolution.
