health, April 20, 2006
The Massachusetts General Court adopted a
resolution on April 20, 2006 commending Taiwan on its contributions
to promote world health. The resolution notes that ˇ§good health
is essential to every citizen of the world and that access to the
highest health standards of health information is necessary to improve
public health, especially in view of such world health crises as
HIV/AIDS, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), avarian flu,
tuberculosis and malaria.ˇ¨
The resolution commends Taiwan's important
contributions and achievements in the field of health, and eager
and voluntary assistance in international activities supported by
the World Health Organization. It also notes the vocal support by
the US and EU Governments for Taiwan's participation in the World
Health Organization. Signed by Speaker of the House Salvatore DiMasi
and more than 20 senators and representatives, the resolution commends
Taiwan for its many contributions to promote world health and supports
