Rhode Island House Passes Resolution Supporting Negotiation of a Taiwan-United States Free Trade Agreement, February 16, 2006 The Rhode Island House passed a resolution supporting the negotiation of a Taiwan-United States Free Trade Agreement. The resolution recognizes the important economic and strategic relationship shared by Taiwan and the United States and our common values of freedom, democracy and market principles. The resolution notes that a free trade agreement between Taiwan and the United States would ¡§lead to further corporate investment in both Taiwan and the United States and would create new business opportunities and jobs.¡¨
